The Daily Cycle of Hormones Another important cycle that is often ignored is the diurnal (daily) cycling of hormones Hormone production (and by extension usage) peaks, not first thing in the morning, but after sleep has begun. This makes abundant sense. If we are going to do any growing whether it is height or breasts or bones, then we should do so when there are fewer demands on our system's resources. I.E., when we are asleep. This means to me that any regimen of dietary control should focus delivery of towards the end of the day...probably after 5:00 pm local time. The substantial difference in estrogen production during sleep cycles may create some variance, when combined with our monthly cycle. By example, on August 13th, 2000, the moon rose at 13:37 EST. Based on a monthly cycle, this places maximum fertility at about close to midnight that day. However that contradicts the diurnal rhythm, since estrogen production is at one of its highest levels during that period, inhibiting the ovulation process. In this case then, it would make sense to me to add a "buffer period" to accommodate egg release...and place "ovulation" on the following day.
